Women’s Empowerment through Microfinance Self-Help Groups in India. This mixed-method study explores the lived experience of women participating in microfinance self-help groups in Maharashtra. With participant input, we will develop a new data collection tool based on the Life History Calendar method to examine women’s empowerment trajectories over time.

Impact of Study Abroad on Students’ Global Competence. This systematic review project examined the impact of short-term faculty-led study abroad experiences on the development of global competence for undergraduate and graduate students. Study 1 synthesized and mapped evidence on global competence outcomes to identify thematic gains and assessment strengths and limitations. Study 2 identified the educational components associated with global competence gains and presented a visualization of programmatic themes by global region.

International Social Work Field Site Assessment. We developed a multidimensional capacity checklist to assess the readiness and suitability of potential international field placement sites. Once measure piloting and refinement is complete, the checklist can provide a useful tool to social work programs in the early stages of developing international field placements for BSW and MSW students.
